I have seen a thread "Let's See Your Dogs" and loved the idea, but I don't have the time to properly care for one myself, so I thought I would start a thread "Let's See Your Cats", to also honor our best friends too.

This is my cat Buddy, he found me taking in my groceries one winter's night, when it was about 4 degrees outside with a foot and a half of snow too. I figured by the time I brought my groceries inside Buddy would be gone, but little did I know this stray cat would not only find a place in my home but also in my heart forever.

Buddy passed away 3 years ago from cancer and it's kind of ironic, because he was there with me when my mother passed away from breast cancer and my father from lung cancer, after they both fought long battles. What I remember most about Buddy, was him sitting on my front windowsill taking in all the sights, sounds, and especially smells, as you can see in the first picture.

Glad Buddy was there for you. What breed of cat was he?

I don't have a cat because my wife is allergic, but they can be pretty awesome! That was a great story about Buddy, and it sucks that animals don't live as long as we do. I know he helped you as much as you helped him. Here's to Buddy

Buddy is a long haired Tuxedo and I may be biased, but I think his breed are the smartest cats around.

I appreciate those comments and in my opinion, God sent an angle down to help me get through a very difficult period in my life. Buddy was the best and I agree with you about them having such a short time with us.

Good thread idea. I'll join in.

Much like yourself, I am gone too much to properly care for a dog, so my wife and I got two cats just over 3 years ago. Both came from a feral mother, but have been great pets. The smaller grey one is pretty much a dog though because she follows me everywhere, greets me at the door, and basically comes when I call her.

One thing I wished was that Buddy had another cat to hang with, so next time a will try to find another stray cat or adopt 2 from a shelter, so they can play around together. Your pictures look so professional, I wish Buddy's were so well taken and with that quality.

    P.S. Great names!!

Cats are funny, I was feeding my neighbor's cat when he was away and one time I brought my cat to meet his. When I introduced them to each other in his house, my cat was hissing and ready to fight while his could careless, even though a strange cat was invading his territory. My cat and the cat upstairs would get along great, even though they spent little time together.

My wife is allergic as well, we found the russian siberian breed to be hypo, and she does great with "Layla".

I was actually looking at those. They're a really bad ass looking cat! We decided to just go with a dog instead. We're going to adopt a retired greyhound racer, and name it Cooper, based on the brand of my tires :D

    Maverick and Goose.

Mavy is the black and white, and he is totally an overconfident dick.

    Goose is a big pussy.

    Worked out well.
