Hi, I purchased a black Tacoma 2016 TRD sport and I would like to install cool black 20 inch rims with 35 " tires and 4 inch lift. I don't drive off road just city driving but I do like the look of the off road tires. Also I don't want to sacrifice smooth ride for looks, any advise for this rookie, I have no idea where to start ,,,thanks

Sure you want cool black rims and not hot black rims? Everyone in the walmart parking lot will be turning heads when you put one wheel up on the curb so you better make sure you make the right choice.

Also, I don't know much about wheels, so all I can recommend is the search bar in the upper right. Search "wheels" or "rims", check the box "search this forum only" and away you go GRASSHOPPER.:burnrubber:

You want street tires if you want a smooth, quiet ride

Honestly, you won't get much help on this forum looking for advice about making your truck look cool.

I suggest joining Toyota Tacoma Enthusiasts on Facebook to find this information

Welcome to TW. This forum can be extremely useful despite the luke warm welcome. If you care about ride and performance moderation is the key. I would look at going with a smaller lift and tire setup, such as a 3" and 33s max. Spend some time reading as much as you can on the site. There are plenty of good sources on here to learn from. Keep in mind heavy tires are going to significantly rob power (from an engine people already consider lacking in power) and rob mpgs. If you go to an E-load tire ride will also suffer. Do lots of research up front and do not skimp out on cost. Blocks and spacers will result in worse headaches down the road.

What crashburn said and Welcome. Your going to lose tons of power and mpgs with 35s unless you regear. Your looking at spending a few K before wheels and tires. If your truck is 2wd you have a bit more wiggle room with a lift kit as you won't have to worry about CV angles. I'd suggest a 3" lift and 33s on 20s if you can live with it.

^^^This is the correct advice. Most 4" lifts require cutting, and I would always advise against that. 3" suspension will give you a much improved ride over stock. Do lots of research. There is plenty of info in here dispite some of the jack-asses. Besides that, welcome and enjoy that truck!!!

What you wanna do, is drive down to your local Toys R Us, or equivalent, and walk into the kiddie isle. Purchase your self one of those sweet sweet Power Wheels. I recommend the oh-so-awesome pink Barbie Jeep. Then take that throw it in the back of your new mall crawler, and drive off a cliff.

This will not affect the smoothness of your ride at all.

Second this. Why are you lifting if you're not ever off roading? Why sacrifice the mpgs and spend all that money for the look? Buy some nice tires, rims, and level it. It will be much cheaper, and you wI'll enjoy your truck just as much. Just my two cents
