What do I need to do and whats the cheapest way? I have the JBL system in my truck and I want it out. I bought the stealth box set up for my truck and heard that ill have to replace all door speakers because of the JBL amp. Is this right? Some place in Santa Barbara quoted me somewhere around $1,300 to install amps and all that to get the truck sounding right. I won't pay that much so are there decent speakers that aren't too expensive? Thanks in advance.

An excellent to very very good system, without an eq, is going to cost about $1500 to $1800 for equipment and sound deadening alone. I do not know what installation even costs since I've never paid anyone ever to install electronics for me into any vehicle I've ever owned.

The only corners that can be cut are skipping rear full range speakers, and going with a 2 channel amp for front speakers only. Stick with medium level or high level amps and speakers...otherwise it's going to be one of those systems that money keeps getting dumped into to sound marginally less crappy. Do it right the first time or save up to do it right.
