Ok so would someone please give me some recommendations on changing my diff and tcase oil? I want to do it correct. I know that my truck calls for 75w90 for the diffs for sure. AutoZone looked up my truck and said I can use 75w90 on both tcase and diffs, upon reading some stuff on this site, some people use 80w90 on their tcase?
I'm no expert yet with trucks, but do know some essentials. This diy job I don't want to fuck anything up.

I've got a manual transmission so no atf, I bought a few bottles of valvoline full synthetic 75 90. I'm not going to get any oil for anything besides the rear differential until some nice guy or gal can shed some light!

    Thanks

I've got a 1995 Geo Tracker LSi 5-speed 4WD and am going to change out all the gear oils. Word I'm getting is the transfer case has brass inside? and one should use a GL-4 gear oil, in fact, same gear oil as goes in the transmission (Redline MT-90 works). GL-5 gear oil in a manual transmission will attack the syncros, even a gear oil that says GL-4/GL-5.

Does anyone know, does the Tacoma transfer case have brass inside the case?

I think what you will find is based on usage some members including myself accelerate the maintenance shcedule. For instance because I used 4wd often I swapped the differential fluid at 10k, rather than wait until the prescribed mileage.
