Hello all, I am in a position to buy my first Tacoma and am very excited, but also concerned. I have driven for a roadside assistance company for several years and for all of those years , i have driven Tacomas. The owner said they were the most dependable "small" pickups they had used.
Over the years I have seen the performance of these trucks and have decided they were the best and what I wanted to drive in my work and leisure time. I found this site and was hoping some owners could give me a little advice. I drove three year models in my 8 years with the company and am partial to those year models('97, '01,'03 extended cab 2.4 2wd standard).
However, now that there are newer models available, I prefer to explore a slightly newer version, but want to make sure they have the same reliability as their predecessor.I will from here on be going to specific forum with more specific questions .Thanks.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
    Welcome.

BTW - They're all good trucks. Can't go wrong. Sure, each has it's detractors, but overall beats any other brand.. and as for a best year for a Taco.. geez. I'm not going to open that can of worms.

They're all great. I love to see 'em, drive 'em, own 'em, and really enjoy seeing ones well cared for, tricked out, and mods too.

You'll see al ot of all that on here and if you take some time and poke around TW you'll get a ton of info and ideas. I'll bet you'll figure it out.

    Welcome to TW!

I have a 2005 4DR Double cab V6 Prerunner . 138,000 miles & only thing I had to replace is the 5 year old factory battery, 1 headlight bulb. Yes I would say Toyota is still building an awesome truck.
