Today I made a deal on a Honda Ridgeline RTL-E instead of a third generation Tacoma. In the end I decided the Ridgeline made more sense for my needs since I can haul everything with the Ridgeline anyway. We decided the interior space fits our needs for most situations.

This forum has been very educational and entertaining. I'll still lurk around and ask questions from time to time, but it's time to focus less on research, and having more fun.

After I pick up the keys this time next week, I'll be happy to refer you to my salesman if anyone is interested (south florida area).

Going from a PreRunner to a Ridgeline probably improves off-road capability :p

Yea, I am not a big fan of the front-end either. But it leaves a lotta room for improvement. For instance...

4runner is dope but taco is doper still.

Sad that some people's rides aren't dope at all.

    Mostly stuff I built.
I understand how you feel about your issues on your truck but have to disagree with you on the anemic feel. My Taco is a much better driving experience than our previous FJ or our Runner. Both of them are/were kind of doggy in comparison to the Taco.

Weird you're one of the only people who have said the third gen performs better than the runner. 9 out of 10 I've seen here report the same as my experience with the newer 4runner. Did you have a 2016 4runner ? Maybe there was something wrong with yours. The difference is night and day between our new 4runner and my new taco. I also test drove a 2017 tacoma same config as mine but with power window and it drove the exact same. I've counted at least 4 folks here who have traded their 3rd gen for a 4Runner too.

    Lord I hope not,

    Maybe we'll see the V-8 in a T4R again....

Come on Toyota... I don't want a Lexus!

I mean geesh do they really think Lexus owners are going to want a 4Runner? No they want their Lexus models... We just want the V-8! Even if it's only in the Limited or TE... Come on!

Nope. Someone mentioned the ugly nose, so I just posted a couple of pics on changes other owners have made. My Trail will be silver though.

The first pic was all of the lights someone did to theirs. I particularly like the lightbar behind the grill. I'll probably do that right away. The second pic and the one you commented on is the metal front bumper and winch. I wouldn't mind doing that to mine. It's certainly good to have if you get off the beaten path much. All my ATV's have winches.

17 Taco trd or felt like driving a corolla and same quality, whereas 16 4runner trd pro felt solid and quality like a lexus. everything about it was refined. drivetrain, steering, window buttons, locks, shifter, gauges, glovebox, door handles and opening mechanism, hood latch. my 16 Tundra TRD PRO does not even compare to it either.

If i didnt have to trade in the 4r, i wouldnt have. But my replacement was very nice.

Gotcha. Yeah, that SS Slimline is on the top of my list for bumpers. So clean.

Make it 8 out of 10... my 2016 Tacoma (post TSB) runs stronger than my 2013 4R; with better mileage:)

Forget Taco or 4Runner .... I want this for my full time ride. You think I'm joking but would make the perfect camping outdoor vehicle. . It has raised seating and arm rests on driver side. Told my wife - I would buy it the day it rolled out off the truck. Sign me up for all the comforts of her van and it's swearing with Taco 4WD chassis.
