    Anyone into model rockets?

I've been interested in them for a long time and only recently launched the first one off myself. My son joined cup scouts and that was the first thing they did was build one and launch them. My son was all in after that. I went the other day and bought a set for him and we had a great time launching them and chasing after them.

Let's see those model rockets if you're into them. Anyone build their own outside of buying the kits?

This is the starter set we got.

We managed to blow a hole in the first one and lost the second one. Big one is all that's left. Guess I'll be making a trip to Hobby Town again shortly.

    A thing or two...
I did model rockets for a few years in high school. When I left for college, I didn't have the time/money and never got back into it. It was fun at the time though. I just had a kit that I had built. As a project my senior year, I build a homemade rocket from a paper towel tube. It was loaded with 4 motors that I ignited simultaneously. I don't remember the motor size (C/D/E/F), but I never found it. LOL

Just noticing this thread. I've played around with model rockets some and had a lot of fun with them. The problem for me is finding some place that's a big enough field that's not private property. Been thinking of getting back into it though. My daughter is eight and has been asking if we could launch the two biggest rockets. Those two are composites so probably will hold off on letting her fire off those, but I have one or two small ones that would be perfect for the high school football field. I'll try and get some pics of them in the next day or so.
