MGM Metallic Covered in Scratches

    So this past week while elk hunting I drove down a VERY seldom driven road to decrease our carry out significantly. The road was pretty overgrown. As this is my first dark colored truck I sadly realized how significant and visable the scratches are. I haven't washed it yet but there are a couple I don't think will wash off. The good news is I think everything is just in the clear coat. I was wondering what the best way to remove or minimize the appearance of the scratches, especially as they are essentially top to bottom. I'll upload pictures once I get a chance to wash it.

    Yep, 3 weeks in ran a bush down the entire passenger side of mine. Most of them disappeared after a wash but you can still see some of the deeper ones up close. Can feel them too.

    I know some people apply a heavier layer of wax if they know they are going to go out on some trails to try to avoid it. Otherwise you just wear it as a badge until you can do a full detail on your truck.

    I also think people have had success with ScratchX but I have no personal experience with it.

    It will most likely buff out.

    I'd recommend using meguiars ultimate compound to buff it out, followed by meguiars liquid wax. I've used the combination of both of those and they have worked wonders when it comes to scratches.
