I was driving into a head wind yesterday 30-40 mph, cruse set @ 78mph.I have had the transmission Filled and TSB done rpms 2300-3500 when in the 3200+ it was constantly shifting up and down even with cruse off. This would be similar to towing conditions I would believe. dealer closed till Tuesday.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it does it frequently. You probably hit the "sweet" spot between wind drag and speed.

Mine does the same thing. Just got back from 300 mile trip from Texas to Arkansas on Interstate 30. TSB done Friday ..... way better now, 78 mph with a wind; mine will up and downshift 100 times in a few hours even with ECT on. The engine and gearing are not condusive to 78mph. Try driving at 70mph and it rarely shifts.

The TSB has made it better by kicking out of 4th down a hill back into 5th gear faster. Lots of overpass hills on Texas interstates, always a big fight to maintain 78mph.

I drive slower and love my Taco again. Everything else is awesome, just have learn to drive slower and not fight it.

what you describe above you should have just locked it in 5th gear. no business being in 6th gear under those conditions. sounds like cruise control was searching for 5 1/2th gear...

Sounds the same, interstate speed limits here are 75.

That's the best so far , I was concerned the torque converter may have crapped from the low fluid level.
