I just don't have the time to do one.
As it happens I am a Fabricator, but I just am not going to wrap up every weekend and all my spare cash into something when I can be ahead of the game with a Jeep.

If I asked who thought I should do a diesel swap, I'd be damned sure many would tell me I'm an idiot, but the ones who have pulled it off would be ready to offer advice....opinions, its just the nature of the beast..

Re covered my door pannels black today

 

What did ya use for materials?

 

Just black fabric from walmart that is a little stretchy and some headliner spray adhesive

 

Installed a 'new' reman GM alternator. It replaced my old stocker that had to be reinstalled as a trail fix when the first GM alt was murdered by a mud bath. The old stocker now goes back to stand-by duty in the OSK.

New radiator is next.

 

I hate mud in so many ways. It gets over everything, destroys everything, makes it a pain to work under the truck etc etc etc... BUT it's so fun to go through. I'm still dealing with issues two months after I mistakenly went through a much deeper home then I thought. And bama mud is terrible!

 

Buttoned her back up and found a nice long gravel road for the initial 20 minute break-in run in 4H for the new front gears! No explosions, grinding metal, or loud bangs, so I think I might have done the swap correctly.



ETA: Clarified that the run in 4H was on gravel, so as to minimize potential confusion.

Most of the diff rebuilders recommend a 500 mile break in. This is a bit of a challenge to pull off with the front diff.

 

Long gravel road for the initial run in 4H. Probably wasn't as clear on that as I could have been!

It is. I'm using one trip odometer for the rear, and the other for the front. But I'm pretty OCD, so there is that.

 

GOT MY H4 Hella lamps and my kensun HID 55 watt bulbs Bi-xenon kits installed.

Finished my turbo install

4.5psi of boost atm. Spools in the mid 2000's Aiming for 10psi, meth and an AEM.

Montgomery, things a blast to drive now, except it stalls after/at high speed stops, and after boost occasionally
