The shock damping on my 2016 Tacoma 4X4 Limited is squishy. I was going to get a TRD Off-Road and got sucked in to the Limited for the the leather seats and moonroof and reasoned the Limited would be the better truck for my overall type of driving only going off-road once a year. What are my best options? I looked at ordering the Bilstein off-road shocks used on the TRD. Shocks are $450 and another $600 for labor and front end alignment. What are my best shock damping options for off-road trails in Capital Reef, Moab, and Zion having just the basic 4X4 option.

I think most people here will recommend bilstein 5100 or another aftermarket setup.

You will get a far better shock and the whole shebang will cost you half of what you quoted above.

Dealer wants $450 to swap out front shocks. Looks a little complicated. Any suggestions?

I'll sell you my TRD OR factory suspension. Just had it replaced.
