I have on it now a factory lift? The tires and rims I have on it now came with it, I wanted to get a bigger tire and this is what tire kingdom told me. I also want a tire that is not so noisy the ones I have now are. My daughter is autistic and the noise will set her off. I am at these guys mercy, been told so many stories, so many different prices. I love my rims that I have on it and want to keep them

Is there a reason you want to go bigger?

no real reason to go bigger at all, I like the look of the other trucks with the bigger tires, the way they stick out. Just like the look.

I'd stick with a 285/70-17. More choices in tires and known to fit well with minor mods

    Thank you for your input
Is there a way to actually know other than the saleman telling me what is a noisey tire and what is not?

The noise a tire makes doesn't depend on its size. It depends on the tread. An aggressive knobby tire will make a lot more noise than a smoother street tire. Going up to 295 might be okay, but it might rub, it will be heavier, probably decrease your gas mileage and it will make driving feel more sluggish.

If all you care about is noise then get a tire that is less aggressive. The salesman is probably just trying to make some money off of you.

I have found Tirerack.com and discounttiredirect.com very useful for research. The customer reviews can reveal a lot about different tires.
