water/soap spots on my Taco

Need Help...
My taco is magnetic gray (first dark truck I've owned), after washing, is there a way to prevent water/soap spots without towel drying?

I think they make a soap that prevents water marks and spots...I think its by "armor all"

I've been using a quality car wash product from Meguiers, when getting the spots. Today I washed with dish washing liquid and got no spots. However, I don't like to use the dish washing liquid because I hear it will break down the shiny finish quicker. But I will look for the Armor All product.

use a filter on your water this should do the trick.

 

when you are rinsing your truck, do you do it with a spray nozzle or just the hose end? I have noticed that when I do a final rinse, if you take off your spray nozzle and rinse, it leaves no water spots what so ever. Hope this helps.

 

Dish soap is a NO NO for truck washing... it will strip all the wax off your vehcile. If you have used it, you will need to wax your vehicle asap.

Water spots are caused by calcium in the water (hard water). A filter system and good quality soap will take care of the issue. There are plenty of water spot removers on the market that can help get rid of the ones you already have, just remember to rewax after you use it.

Rinse and dry you truck one section at a time.

Got a leaf blower? That'll dry it fast and won't leave any water. If there are a few drops on it, wipe with a microfiber towel. Clay and wax, and after you wash it next time, the water will bead up and will blow off even easier if you use the blower.

I've talked to several folks around the area that will more than likely buy some TT gear. I have dealt with Tommy T. personally on some business and he is first class all the way, off the field. When he was coach here, before our business dealings, I bumped into him one day in the mall, and he had on all his hunting camo (he's a big hunter), I casually said hey coach, and he stopped and took the time to stand and talk for several minutes. He was extremely friendly, then we had business dealings and he was even more "first class" as anyone I've ever seen. I wish him the best.

 

He sounds like a stand-up guy. What kind of business do you do, if you don't mind me asking?

 

definitely stay away from the dish soap. dish soap works by breaking down the surface tension allowing water and the soap to be absorbed into the material being applied to. like baked on whatever. break down the hard surface layer, get some fresh water and soap in there and itll keep doing that till its gone. itll do the same to your paint and itll be harder to get it looking better the next time around.
