Hello...im mike. I love building n fixing all type of stuff. High tech to awesome old school.
My 1998 DX is a 2.4L 2WD, no AC, crank windows & 5speed. Changed out radio n speakers for alpine. Original motor and drive train.
    Right now 408k mi:)
Replaced two alternators, one 02 sensor, one radiator, one new-used seat (120k on it when i got it), all ball joints, new rotors, bearings n windshield a 375k..lotta pits. Pretty much all done by me.
Paid $8k with 70k miles 2003 from Toyota dealer.
Just put key in it goes....110mph ...rev limiter works! Flashed a 63 benzo @ 105 ..he wouldn't pull over...he bailed..chased him..for awhile...his foot couldnt handle all 12 cylinders once he hit 105 ... truck is amazing! Nice sheriff said hes never seen a truck go that fast...lost him for more than a mile....shut her down..never paced me. He said "you were moving so damn fast i thought gears were gonna come outta the hood and crash thru the windshield ....slow er down."...motorcycles also dont like 100 on bumpy roads or wet mountain roads . ...they always pull over. Power to weight baby...lights up tires at 408k mi ...damn!
    Little Girl Goes!

    ( Had a 73 F100 thats still going....been sold many times rebuilt 302...prob 750k mi..)

Nice! Love the older, primitive trucks with minimal electronics. Did it come with no AC? I didnt know that was optional back then

    ThanKs for the welcome!
I wish it was 4WD Like yours ...had a buddy with an awesome 1981 Toyota 4WD with a waren winch insane bias ply meats..that only a Granada running a traffic light could stop. He rebuilt it with a virginish junkyard frame ground up....he drove through rivers in snow filled New Mexico winters with water rushing up the hood with factory air intake...nothing could stop it. Flipped coins over who would freeze their butt off hooking up the winch. Ran no fenders got tired of fixing tree damage.Mud bog insanity!!! People called it the "anti-christ." I want one bad! One time he blew out the rear diff in the snow 100 miles from town. He pulled the pumpkin n axles. Put the rear end back together so it turned and eased it home on the front diff...Deiced a frozen carb with a propane torch (cig in mouth too...beer on air box) 50mi from town in feet of snow.
But not having front diff is good for a daily driver like my 98.
