Hey guys, i have a 2012 taco trd sport. Had a 6" pro comp suspension lift installed. When you step on the gas the rear end starts making a popping/cranking noise. Its only when trying to take off in a hurry. any ideas what could be causing this?? is it the axle? what can i do to fix this issue? Does it have anything to do with the installation?

What kind of rear end lift do you have? 6" leafs? (Please don't say blocks). And what did you do to correct the driveline angle?

How big are the blocks? Does the cross member drop the transfer case?

Lifting your truck that high causes significant changes in driveline angle. Your blocks cause axle wrap on acceleration, where the axle rotates the driveline even further out of alignment. The combination is likely causing your driveshaft u-joints to bind. Blocks should be avoided, in addition to axle wrap they can damage your leaf springs.

Carrier bearing drop and rear axle shims help to correct the driveline angle. Using proper leaf springs without blocks reduces axle wrap. Lowering the rear lift helps reduce the driveline angle. All of these will help reduce binding.
