    Hello all,

This is my first post on here and am in need of help on my 09 Tacoma. A little background first:

I have a 2009 Tacoma PreRunner with only 45k miles and I got a lift installed about 8 months ago (3-2). I have some vibrations in my steering wheel and after searching these forums and other websites, I ended up changing out the U-joints, doing the center bearing and adding axle shims in the back. The vibrations are 95% gone and I am sure the other 5% are the larger tires.

Now I have a weird noise that I can't explain when I am accelerating. It sounds like a humming noise or maybe a slight grinding noise. And it doesn't happen every single time I accelerate. It mainly happens when I am going 1500 RPM's and once I hit 20-25 mph it is completely gone. It sounds like its coming from the passenger side. I took it to a mechanic friend and he said it doesn't look like a suspension issue or any lose fenders. I checked my mud flaps and they are all secure.

I searched the forums and some people were saying to check all the bolts on the exhaust and catalytic converter, which I did and they are fine.

So I am running out of ideas on this issue. I am wondering maybe this is a normal issue?

    Thank you for your help,

    Austin

I occasionally hear a chugging when I accelerate from a stop. Wonder if it's the same thing.

Chugging is a good word to describe it, maybe a small groan or something.
