Upon much research, the highlander is out. Its is probably a great fit, but we want a more rugged look and im not sure the accessories from aftermarket suppliers is going to make it more capable than I want. My appointment is tomorrow, I will test drive the taco and 4runner, my wife is already leaning heavily on the 4runner. If I think I can enjoy its off road capabilities and if I can look past the lack of manual (which was one of the main reasons other than looks I was aiming at the taco) then I will have to continue my shopping in that direction.

Fx4 isn't it's own model anymore. Just a stupid crap package. I don't see why you would need or want another truck. If this next vehicle is for her, get something that fits her needs and wants

Who cares. As for you not seeing why I want or need another truck, read above posts.

Sounds from the post like your the one who wants the truck is what I'm saying. You said yourself she doesn't want a Tacoma. All I'm saying is why are you trying to push her into something that she doesn't want? As for interior room, with kids being in car seats a Tacoma probably isn't the best choice since you already have a full size pickup. I'm not telling you what you should or shouldn't buy. I'm just simply telling you that you should let your wife decide what she wants and thinks is best. After all seems like that would be her daily driver.

Finaly a sensible response to my smart ass comments lol. Totally agree with everything you said, you're 100% right on the fact that Im the one pushing for the tacoma... I weirdly cant stop staring at them when they drive by. Plus "SAVE THE MANUALS" comes to mind. (My wife drives manuals no problems)

In truth, I also like the 4runner, so its not going to be a hard sell. The test drive will greatly help... but come on a white tacoma lifted with a MT is a off road dream.

What are you towing that requires the use of the f150, if you don't mind me asking?

I have a heavy 20ft custom toy hauler I converted that when loaded is over 7000lbs. I use this for hunting, and fishing as well as camping. On top of this I load a full size atv in the bed of my f150 xlt :)D) while pulling this load. My payload is 1730lbs and its at max with this load. Other than that a 21ft rinker with a 350mag in it. BUT my scariest load is my 1964 IH b414 tractor loader and box crapper. Its around 5500 to 6000 lbs but it feels terrible to pull on a car hauler style trailer

To be clear I truly could not trade my truck, i ordered it how I wanted it and it has been perfect. I was dreaming the tacoma would be a great fit, but its apparently not. My wife has pretty much said forget it, but the test drive will clear it up Im sure

Well im not sure if anyone cares, but most everyone was right, the tacoma is really not a good fit for me, to my surprise neither was the 4runner......the highlander on the other hand is exactly what my wife wants.....and I will admit I quite like it too
