Black Door Vinyl

Hey everyone... what is the purpose of the black vinyl in-between the doors on the DC Tacomas? I've noticed that some people remove it and I am considering doing the same. Any suggestions? Sorry if this is already a topic, but I didnt find anything in the search. Thanks

 

Show. Don't like it? Peel it off.

 

Its purpose is to make you believe the cab is bigger than it really is. It blends the windows together to give that illusion. I prefer the look without it. It just peels right off, a lot easier on a hot day. You may need to wax the area when done. Just make sure to get all the residue off if any is left behind.

 

Visual purpose? Not sure. Functional purpose? It can avoid paint nicks from rings, watches, other things.

hmmm.... not sure what I should do. My truck is cement and windows will be tinted soon

 

Leave it. It looks better with tint.

 

It's to keep from getting scratches when you close your door. If your truck is dirty then your fingers pressing into the paint causes micro scratches in it

 

I want to keep mine but the person who installed the passengwr side did so 3/16 out of level
