Not sure they are related but they both happened twice at the same time.

Highway driving out in Death Valley at night, about 80 degrees, 60 - 65 mph.

Going up a long grade, several miles, I notice the transmission is staying in a lower gear, running about 2500 - 2700 rpm. Feels like it could shift but I am going uphill so . I hit the crest and start on a long downgrade. Now something is off. I'm doing 65 but the rpms are 3,000. I let off the gas and the truck slows due to the trans not upshifting properly. I push on the gas and let off a couple of times but nothing changes, so I decide to pull over.

I brake and the pedal pulses, not a lot but I can certainly feel it through the pedal, a little in the steering and I can faintly hear it. Off and on the brake a few times and it persists.

Stop on the side of the road, open the hood, look under the truck, kick the tires, nothing obvious. Take about 5 minutes and then get back in. Running normal now, 65mph and under 2,000rpm downhill. Step on the brake down to 45mph and no pulsing.

    o_O

Next long upgrade, same thing happens. This time I slow to about 45 (brake pulses) and within about a quarter mile the trans upshifts and both brake & transmission problems go away.

Haven't occurred since in the last 300 or so miles but I haven't hit long upgrades either.

I'll run it by the dealership but I thought I'd check here first.

Just over 30,000 miles, stock 4x4 Offroad.

Had some strange sounds with mine too. Supposedly the brake pulsing is normal under certain conditions....... I've read/heard that pulse is the ABS and stability control genius at work. I wonder if you turned some of those damn buttons off and repeated the same scenario if you'd experience the same noises?

We got ours in Feb 2015 and the first time that brake pulse happened (a week later on the snow covered roads) my wife and I looked at each other with a "what the hell was that" kind of look on our faces.

I have a 2015 DC OR with 32k miles on it. It was dropped off at my dealer today for a spark knock that has been getting worse. I would like to know have you heard this from your truck? I have the v6.

We went to the mountains a couple of weeks ago. On I81 in VA, on cruise control about 78mph, the truck would shift back and forth on grades. Nothing terrible, but it was annoying and seemed like it didn't need to downshift but did anyways. Honestly, I have thought nothing of it.

It is my belief that the engineers who have developed the software on these trucks have not done enough testing to see what the parameters they have written actually do.

Thanks, it's good to know that they all don't do that. I hope you never have any. You have the v6?
