When I ordered my 2016 Tacoma Sport I ordered the Toyota Weather Mats - my question is the carpet itself is really cheap crap the passenger side mat will not stay in place because the carpet is so thin and the spikes on the mat will not grip. Is this normal? I would have expected that the carpet would have been much better than it is!

Yes that is normal for those mats. But my husky weather beaters are way better and do not move at all.

The carpet in mine looks like it was sprayed on, it is not removable. Is yours the same?

The sport and OR should have identical interiors

It reminds me of cardboard with felt glued on it. I was surprised when I saw it also. I would rather have vinyl than cardboard with felt glued on it.

I also have the Husky Weather Beaters. they stay in place..

I totally agree the carpet is lacking. You would think 40k would get you a bit more. We have a 2016 Rav-4 too and it has the very same shit

Guess it depends on where you're at, guess out here in the high heat the weather beaters hold up better. My dads weather techs have lost shape after a few years in so cal which lead me to buy the huskys. Very happy with them and the discount I got from autoanything.com

The problem you are seeing is universal. I didn't order the mats but the truck my dealer found for me had them included. They looked good enough to give a shot but the passenger side moves every single time someone gets in. I glued a strip of the hook side of some velcro tape to the bottom of the passenger side mat and the problem with the mat moving was solved. The fact that they charge $300 as compared to cheaper Weather Techs or Huskies is not unexpected for an OEM product. The fact that they are absolute garbage compared to those cheaper options...very disappointing.

Odd we had the same problem with the husky curling out here in Vancouver BC. Where it's rain forest here and wet cold

No BRO-ness to speak of... Well, except Kbro2's
I was vacuuming mine out the other day and inadvertently sucked the carpet right off the floor..... It just disappeared!
