My 2005 V6 Access Cab Prerunner w/ 215,000 miles started making a loud ticking noise coming from the rear half of the vehicle. When I coast at low speeds, the tick occurs every 6ft or so and is not all that loud, but still noticable. However, when I acclerate the ticking becomes very loud and increases in frequency with accleration. This noise does not occur while acclerating in neutral. It almost sounds like when someone puts zip ties on the drive shaft as a prank, but there are not any. Has anyone experienced this before?
