KCK chiming in! Hillsdale has a stellar outdoor range and clubhouse behind the damn now. Campsites are pretty alright too.

Hillsdale is nice but their schedule doesn't work for me sometimes, I've been driving out to the Pigeon Hill range.

I ended up finding amazing camping for my 4 day trip. Chase state fish and wildlife lake had great free camping. Fall River had great camping and on the border with Missouri I found Shawnee Trail Conservation area. Saw prairie chickens, watch and Osprey eat dinner through my spotting scope. It was a great trip and Kansas was beautiful! Also went to Tall Grass Praire Reserve and Fort Scott so I got new stamps in my parks passport book.
