I have no quantitative data to support a real case study so this will be qualitative only. I have been riding on a 3/2 leveling kit since i bought my 2014 taco last summer. The ride was rough and stability was questionable. After doing much research post-leveling kit install I realized how terrible these kits are.

After recently installing a real suspension lift (icon stage 3), the ride comfort is back but most importantly the stability is amazing. No matter the pot holes, road curves, etc. I feel completely in control of the vehicle. My current lift has about 2" in the front and 1.5" in the back.

If you are thinking about a leveling kit, just walk away...just walk away. My story above doesn't display the amount of frustration I went through for months with my suspension. Just learn from my story. Save your cash and do it right.

Anyone else go from leveling kit to a real suspension lift? Share your story to help other poor saps like myself out! :D

I agree but it's hard to convince a new Tacoma owner to spend a lot of money on suspension items when they are first learning how their truck works and how to mod/adjust/improve it. I concur with you post. I spent $1,000.00 total on 2 different setups that I ended up trashing before getting a suspension I like.

Thanks for the post guys, I have a new DCSB OR, getting ready to do some mods, at first was thinking leveling kit, but after some time on this site, have decided to go suspension, probably ICON stage 4
