I am in the process of adding a Trailer Brake Controller, I looked underneath and was unable to find it. I really don't want to pay someone to install it.

Do I need to take off the plastic kick panel on the outside left, that is just underneath the dash.

    I appreciate any assistance.

    Thanks,
    Joe

I haven't found mine either but I have read some had to reach behind the kick panel. Don't recall anyone saying they had to remove it.

Yeah, there should be an empty plug. The other half of the plug in was in my glove box, and it was just loose wires to attach to the brake controller.

    I hope that makes sense

Oh, it's there, you just may have to dig for it. I had to take my side kick panel off on my '14 to even find it let alone grab it. My '09 was a piece of cake.

I couldn't find it in my 2011, either. I ended up going to the dealership and a technician walked out to the parking lot, reached up under the dash and found it for me. It was wrapped in a quarter-mile of black electrical tape, rendering it virtually invisible to me. I bought the technician lunch.
