New seat help

Found these and contacted seller, price seems a little high but I have nothing to compare it to. anyone have experience installing power seats? Currently I'm just running cloth seats and have removed them before. There going in my 2000 ext cab.

 

Not sure how the power part will work with your current setup, but if you're a fan of leather, jump on it

Leather is nice but I'm just looking forward to not having to mess with the dam plastic covers on the sides always falling off.

If I am correct, I remember seeing a connection for the power seat option under the drivers seat.

 

I could figure out some wiring to get the power working. Currently researching the topic

 

I just grabbed a pair of grey cloth Limited's a few days ago. HUUUGE improvement! Being that my truck is an 03' DLX with manual windows I did not have a plug in ready option under my seat but I do have an amp. From what I have been told by seller, All I have to do is cut the clip off the wire and bring it right to my power on my amp and it should work as long as I don't reverse polarity.(You'll burn up the motor for the power seats)Not sure if you have an amp close by but that's one way...

Nope, Found them on here. There was a guy selling a regular set of bucket seats and I commented "Wishing he was in Dallas" and I got a PM from a local guy who told me he had a Limited set so I jumped on them! $250!

 

I tore them down and washed the covers. It was a pain but well worth it!

 

Limited what? 4Runner?

 

Depending on what seats those came out of and how they are mounted to the Tacoma seat brackets, you might still be battling that plastic cover... as well as the higher side hip bolsters. I am with my Forester XT seats.

As for power it's a simple positive lead and ground connection. For my seats I ended up just cutting off the connector at the end of the wires running into the seat and ran appropriate gauge wire to them. I am lucky in that my amp sits under my driver's seat so I just tapped into one of the distribution blocks for both my positive lead and ground.

Just make sure to run an inline fuse in the positive lead. I think I ended up putting a 15 amp fuse in mine after testing it with a 5, 7.5 and 10 amp fuse.

 

Do yourself a favor and just buy a distribution block. I would not want to hook up power to the seats listed above.

 

Nope, came out of a 1st gen Tacoma so all I had to is bolt it right up.

 

The only power going to my seats are for lower lumbar and the seatbelt detection light but having a distribution block is a good idea being that I'm going to add to my sound system in the future.

 

Funny I got a set of manual leather seats out of a 2000 4Runner for $150 for the pair. I'd say the price is a bit high, but maybe it's a sellers market. You'll have to make your own wiring harness cause Tacomas haven't ever had power seats.

 

For my three-way power seats it's literally a red and black wire running into the seat.

 

Check under your driver dash by the kick panel you should have a handful of unused harness plugs. I'd be willing to bet one of those is for powered seats.
