Have fun and remember that hippies are an endangered species, so you can't choot 'em.

Oddly there are no hippies present during hunting season out here. The rest of the year you see their dirty little subarus parked at various trailheads. It's disappointing as I have a hard time getting rid of my "veterans for trump" bumper stickers without them. I often wonder how long they drive around before realizing the sticker is there.

One spot is down to surface rust, but will be masked by the fender flare. Remove rust, put on primer, I don't care after that.
The other spot is down to primer and is visible. This ain't going to buff out.
However, I paid only a smidge for the panel so I'm not too sad to pay for a paint job. I'm just wondering what a good quote is going to look like.

Also, this happened. I earned mall crawl merit badge.

If you are willing to wait you can try something a buddy did a few years ago. basically just called around to a bunch of the auto collision repair places and either got their paint people they use (if they dont paint themselves) or talked to them. But basically just tell them you have a small piece that needs painted and you arent in a rush and quality isnt a huge concern (ie not a show truck). It took a couple weeks but eventually they had a car in the same color for painting so they got to his piece too. They just sprayed it with the "leftover" paint from the car. If i remember right they only charged him like 50 bucks and i want to say he did two fenders. But its a total crapshoot on 1) if they will even do it and 2) a car/truck being the same color for paint.

I don't know if I want to be that patient -
    1. I drag my feet on enough things. I've tried to penny pinch everything on the truck up until just lately (buying the Kings was kind of the start of that change), and learned that I will either half-ass or no-ass it if I'm not willing to pay a reasonable amount to get it done right on this truck before it's time to look for a new truck.
    2. Once the fender is ready, I want to replace the head unit, and put on the snorkel that's sitting in the garage. Too bad the scratch isn't where I need it to be!

... and yes, it feels weird to be asking about a paint job on something I want to put a hole in :help:

Put a hole in it first. That way if you scratch it, you don't have to get it painted again.

That's a good order of operations, I was so focused on what was at hand that I didn't think big picture.

Who wants to help me get my CB working? I'm an idiot that can't get it to work for more than a distance of 100yrds or so and my wiring to antenna needs to be replaced. Pizza & beer of your choice!
I'm Western WA but can meet!

Are you sure it is wiring and not tuning? There is the adjustable part on the end of the antenna to get it tuned in right.

Eh, see my Build Thread sig link. Too many mods to list.

You'll also need an SWR meter and jumper cable to...set your SWR properly, which could be your problem right now. I had a local CB shop (that is now closed) do mine last time. I've been putting off buying the meter and learning to do it, as I only use mine a couple times a year.

Somebody around Seattle should have an SWR meter and know how to use it...

Plan something. I don't know where you are.

Plan something... but I'll say, you are way out in hell and gone, so maybe not many out your way unless you have something cool for people to do.

Little buggers are a good excuse, but guys in your area are planning things weekly. Have a food meet. Plan something.

Can't help if you work weird hours. I think OTO and GitOut have retirees that do things mid-week on rare occasions.
If you want something on your schedule... plan something. :p

You came to cherry valley that day with me and brian. Since there was @northwesttaco myself and you, and you already knew me, it doesn't constitute as a meet/run? :boink:

Better just find a super white dclb and swap everything over, and sell your xcab. Then you have a vehicle to haul the kiddo and keep some of your mods.
