They should have called it 'wet cement'.

Of course not all colors are for all people, since Henry Ford moved out of the monopoly business.

But I just don't get the buzz over shiny primer............

And that's a bucket 'o cash for something that's no more capable than other 4wd Tacomas.

well i have to atleast go look at it,,, the tires and rims suck,, if i did trade, i would have to swap my fake beadlock with the new 265/75's toyo's with the tires on the 17 pro. the they look horrible.. alot of money for a tacoma,, owe 10 grand on my pro,, dont know if i want go backwards again. as far as payment and payoff amount,, the 17 does have some upgrades i wish i had in my 15 pro... i have to aleast go take a look at it.. dealer told me a month ago to commit to it, or i would miss out,, now its sitting in there showroom floor..lol... took me 2 yrs. to like the one i have now,, rides like a truck, as it should be........sounds cool, and looks great after 2 yrs of owning it,,,22,000. miles on her..

I will judge how it looks on the street. Will probably look great at night.

Maybe it's because the paint is not metallic? ... But color looks more like something you'd prefer on your

    interesting-grey-house-color-schemes-to-decorate-your-furniture.jpg

Then you can color match your house to your truck.

Cement is an awesome color, but it does have very fine metallic in the paint. I saw it up close and was surprised it is metallic. Must be why it appears so dark or light depending on the lighting.

It actually has a pearl top finish, pearl is what gives the effect of light and dark color change in different lighting. I've got a "cement" Pro and f*ing love the color. For all the haters color matching it to primer and houses, check it out in person than share your opinion. just sayin!

Ah, so that's how they did it. I absolutely love cement, it is awesome on the taco. When the color was on the Scion tC, I don't recall it having any metallic, so that's why I was surprised when I saw it in person. I think your pro is a really beautiful color. I ought to paint my house cement! :D

I'm no expert when it comes to paint today but have painted many of my own vehicles in my past (family friend owned autobody shop!) But my point is....... I don't think they use "metallic" paint per say anymore with OEM, hence i used the term "pearl." Metallic & ANYTHING else you want is available in custom paint of course. I'm speaking from most standard or OEM applications. If there's something trick above and beyond "just paint/flat or single dimension color" its usually a pearl. Whether thats in the paint mixture itself or in most cases its sprayed over top the base paint color, its essentially infused with the clear coat and sprayed as one (in most applications, not all of course.)

You're probably right as the pearl would make it more subtle. True custom metallics seem to have the large 'chunks' of metal flake. Whatever method they used, it looks really good.
