    That's really amazing to see all that force transferred throughout the entire truck and the airbag deployments. pretty impressive how well the cab stayed intact too.

    That looks pretty good to me! My father was killed in a head-on collision in a Nissan Frontier in 2012 and this gives me some hope that if I'm ever in a similar collision, I've got a chance. The guy who wrecked my dad was DUI - effing bastard!

    Frontal Barrier Impact tests are easy. Frontal impact offset tests are where it gets more interesting, especially the small offset. As it requires the same energy to be absorbed by 1/2 the impact structure, or less.

    This. Small overlap in particular is hard on the truck because the obstacle falls outboard of the frame rail.

    2nd gen doing a moderate overlap crash test, at 40 mph (5 mph higher than the NHTSA full-frontal test in the OP). It's a 2005 model before the advent of curtain airbags.
