took off the dealer sticker and there is still some residue from the tape. Is it ok to use goo gone? Don't want to mess up paint on a brand new truck!!!

Side note, also removed the air dam, truck looks far more badass

Try WD-40. Works well without being too harsh on the paint.

Ive never had an issue with goo-gone. Doesnt always seem to work very well though. Sometimes a good buffing with some compound will help also. On my most recent debaging the residue just would not go away, just had to let it be and it eventually went away after a year or so of just regular cleaning.

A bit of rubbing alcohol should work.

I've used naphtha on guitars to remove stickers but I can't say if I'd use it on my truck's paint. Perhaps a small dab to test it first.

Diluted Isopropyl Alcohol and terry cloth. Rinse/clean with water immediately if on paint. You don't want to let IPA dwell.

WD40 is always the safest product to start with and is great for removing adhesive residue.

Use lacquer thinner on a rag or microfiber. You can remove tar sling, sticker residue and paint trade. Use a small amount and don't let it sit for an extended amount of time. There's also a product you can pick up at home depot called lift off. It's safe to use on plastics and paint. Lacquer thinner will discolor plastics. Always do a test spot.

I've also heard of using mineral spirits. Haven't used it myself.

Another safe option is trying an abrasive cleaner wax.

Another vote here for WD40... used it for well over 20yrs for things like sticker residue. Never had a single issue.

But wouldn’t supprise me that it works.

A friend of mine makes a punch ever year at yearly block party called happy Megan’s she uses a hole bottle of everclear. First two glasses go down well, third glass you start to feel it

I removed my pinstripes a while back and I recommend tutle wax adhesive remover ! It worked like a charm ! Also don't use WD-40 I've seen some horrific jobs with that stuff

I just use a healthy dose of class cleaner and then scrap away the goop with a razor blade. Then just wipe clean with a rag.
This it how we get off all the dealer stickers when a new car is sold at the dealership I work at, asking as ty don’t have tint.
