OK.....Plans are starting to come together. 2 separate trips!

1st is Black Mountain Off Road Adventure Area. It will be on October 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. Hoping to bring together a small group of Expo Overlanders from Indiana, along with Kentucky and Tennessee Tacoma World regulars. We will arrive @ Putney Trailhead on Friday, Oct 21st. Maybe a short trail run during the day. Then a cookout and camping Friday evening. Get up early Saturday morning and hit the trails. Plan is to drive from Putney to Evarts trailhead, then spin around and return to Putney. This will be 10 hours (+ or -) on the move. Then a little trail run on Sunday morning and a mid day cookout before breaking camp for home. The timing is one week AFTER the Harlan "Fall Crawl", and hopefully we'll see peak colors on the trees. Post here if you may be interested. I'm reserving a cabin in the next week.

The other trip will be "Dirt Devil" in Tennessee. Plan is to bring a few friends with their trucks. This group has never been off road. Dirt Devil is VERY mild from what I'm told. If all works out as planned a couple disabled vets will be with us. Already looking at a meet up with a small group from South Carolina. This will be stock, and some 2wd's, and a few 4wds. Not exactly and epic adventure, but we'll have fun! This trip will be on the weekend closest to Veterans Day . Looks like a one day trip so far.

Anyone interested, please respond. We can still make some minor tweaks in the plans if needed.

September 12th (Saturday) OR Sept 13th (Sunday). I'm leaning heavily towards the 12th. There are quite a few others involved who will have input as to which day.

Ok sounds good to me, the Dirt Devil drive sounds like easy fun. I'm not sure of the exact location of the trial system, but I think it's fairly close to where I live. I'm also a D.V., though I do like trails that are a bit more challenging. Hopefully, I'll be able to make the Black Mountain excursion as well.

Might be helpful to have one! My hope is, I can get in line towards the rear of the group and let someone else lead.

well that probably won't be me... I JUST installed my lift, so I don't have a winch or bumpers or anything. and I still need to pick up a snatch strap and a set of off road tires :anonymous:
I have some time though :boink:

@ Dirt Devil, there will be quite a few 2wd's.....There won't be any need for winches or anything that severe.... It's predominantly dirt roads and such. A friend sent me a picture here a while back of a pair of Honda Civic's going through Dirt Devil....

I'll go Friday, or maybe even Thursday night, through Sunday. I just need some therapy time in the woods (the wife and dog will be with me too). planning on exploring and camping in a different place every night. I won't be doing anything that makes me uncomfortable unless I have someone to pull me out if I get stuck :D
