Went to Malloy Toyota in Winchester, Va today... Struck-out.
They had 8 or 10 in stock, I drove most similar one to what I want DCSB O/R (But an Auto w/~$3k in options). Might have been able to get a deal on one of those, but I'll never settle on buying a model/color/trans I don't want (Again), esp. with an extra $3k in options I really don't want.

They had one on order, pretty much what I wanted:
'17 Off-Road, DCSB, Manual in Quicksand +running boards, TRD exh. tip and $200 floor mats  (I hate those)
Their only offer was full MSRP: $35,613 +$599 dealer fee +TT&T (So thats a no-go)

They offered to order the same thing but with none of the accessories: Also full MSRP: $34,665 (+$599 + TTT)

I bought my wife car from them last year, they know I'm serious and have the coin, told him to call me when they really need to close on a sale.

Guess I'll wait till the last day of the month, or the year resist and start E-mailing all the dealers in the area etc. (I have an open option to sell VW back my diesel for the next 18months, so I have time).

I don't get/believe this post.. not even with a $1,000 discount $36,956 out the door with TT&L. This would be way below invoice….
I don't believe it unless I see the pictures (proof) of the truck and purchasing documents. Just saying.

Get the email addresses for the Internet and sales managers for every other dealer in 150 miles or whatever range gets you 15 to 20 dealers. Send them all an email with everyone's addresses in the To: line and describe your desired configuration and ask for their best out the door price. Express that you will write an order with best deal you have by the end of the weekend (send it Thursday afternoon). If there's specific local dealer you want to use, don't include them in this email.

Use a burner emails address and a google voice phone number if they ask for the latter.

Take the best offer to your dealer and tell them you want to give them the chance to get close to it. If they don't, walk and go execute the best offer you received.

This does work best if you don't need to trade and if you have good credit allowing you your choice of finance options.

$3500 off MSRP seems pretty good, though this being a 2016 they're looking to clear them out so they'll be better discounts than on 2017s.

Over 10% in taxes and title fees really sucks.

That is below invoice for a 7566 2016 TRD Sport with JBL and your features (I assume you got the tow package). Unless I'm misreading that would be really good.
Where did you purchase? That's a lot of tax, WA? How did you negotiate that price?

    Yes, tow package included.

Bought the truck in Stockton, CA (Toyota Town). My tax rate is 9.5% + Registratrion ($3,339 + $340).

Went to the dealer 1 hour before they closed. Took advantage of a tired car salesman who said he sold 2 other units that day (hint hint for me). Labor Day incentives + a bit of haggling.

I think he really didn't care if he made top dollar off of me. He probably thought I was icing on his cake. We closed the deal in about an hour (did my research prior to going to the dealer).

Those of you who purchased the Premium Tech Package, are you happy with it? Just bought a 2016 Rav4 for my wife, we did do the tech package. Like the car, not overly impressed with the tech package. We end up using the phone for Navigation, the Bluetooth sounds terrible, and voice commands are a joke. I'll be ready for a new truck soon. Possibly holding out for the Technology package to get with the times.

Just traded in my 05 Titan for a 2017 SR5 DCLB went through Costco and the dealership said it was a good thing I did because it was a better deal then they could offer. Invoice + 800.

By the way, prior to getting the TRD DCLB Sport, I looked around for a similarly spec'd TRD DC OR (+/- long bed). Not surprised by what I found - most TRD OR 4x4, whether LB or SB, were priced anywhere from 2-3k more even though invoice is typically less than 1k difference.

When you said they were priced 2-3k more, did you mean that the dealer added a markup to the TRD OR with a 2-3k price increase or the MSRP was 2-3k more? Because the same model TRD (either Sport or Off Road) have the same invoice/base price (e.g TRD Sport DCLB 4x4 has same invoice/base price as TRD OR DCLB 4x4).

I meant no offense. I am just amazed at some of the tax rates in many States and here I thought $1K was high I would go broke In California....

No offense taken at all. Yeah, our tax rate is horrible.

Gonna move to Alaska - no income tax and sales tax of 1.5% :amen: lol

Actually, state sales tax rate is 0% in Alaska, and only some municipalities have instituted a tax.

It is certainly beautiful, but there's just one little detail...
