    Hello,

I just bought a 2007 Tacoma V6 TRD Off Road with 133,000 miles. There is definitely alot of surface rust around the engine because it spent its former life in the rust belt. This is one of the trucks that got a new frame during the recall. The serpentine belt is on its last legs and I am replacing it, but I'm not sure what I should do with all of the pulleys. Clean, replace, or leave alone? I am comfortable replacing the belt myself but I don't know how much more involved it would be to replace the pulleys and tensioner. What do you guys think? How much for the whole job, belts, pulleys, and tensioner at the dealer?

    Thank you for any advice,
    pictures are attached below.

The dealer would be the last place I would go. If you are not up to the task, find a good independent repair shop.

If your crank pulley is in the same condition and you're also thinking about replacing it......be warned, you may need to remove your radiator, etc to get an impact gun on the crank pulley bolt.

If you have an economical source for media blasting, I'd do that and refinish them. Replacing the tensioner, because of the bearing.

Agree with the Por 15 suggestion if blasting is not an option. But remove and do both sides, as the back will need it too.

Www.monstaliner.com has a product like por15 (an encapsulator) and product to finish over it with if you want a different look.

When applying the POR 15, do i need to be careful not to get any into the belt channel itself and only on the outsides, or is the belt going to wear it off anyway?

I'd try to keep it out of the belt area. Shouldn't be hard if you have them off and laying flat.
