Just sat in the back of the double cab and was surprised it wasn't bigger. I know it's a mid size truck but my knees still hit the seat in front of me and there wasn't much wiggle room. What are your thoughts? How of do you guys use your back seats?

My thought is that it's a midsized truck.

You didn't post your height Or the drivers height Seat position therefore we got no idea what you're really talking about.

My wife has plenty of room in the back, she's 5'3 lol.

Access cab vs double will be a real issue when it comes to baby car seats. You decide how long you're keeping it for and what your family plans are.

Its bigger than a double cab on a full size but smaller than a crew cab on a full size. Frankly i dont give a shit if the backseat passengers are comfortable.

The back seats in the Access Cab are actually the smallest of any in Toyota's lineup, including this thing:

I wanted a double cab for hunting trip room. Not people. I would have loved an access cab with the utility package but it's only offered on the sr.

My dog does not sit in a fashion that requires a significant quantity of leg room.

In a couple years I'm going to see if I can get a TRD Sport, Access Cab, 2WD built without the Munchkin seats and without a rear sliding window. Just as soon have a solid back glass.

Im surprised the legroom is more on the double cab ram 1500. Ive been back there and the seats dont seem like full size seats. Maybe thats how they got the extra leg room.

I got the double cab for the option of having 4 adult passengers. It's not a common occurrence, but the occasional lunch trip at work or driving to the movies. It's nice to be able to. The overwhelming majority of the time its just me (and possibly a front seat passenger). My dog loves the space he has though.

I went on a camping trip with my buddies and we decided to just take my truck. So it was 5 full grown men crammed in the truck with a loaded bed hauling a kayak trailer. All I have to say is that I was very comfortable up front as the driver.

Most people fit just fine in my DC truck, now if you're really tall or really fat.

Mid size truck for mid size people and full size trucks for full size people.

I used to lust for crew cabs. When the 1st gen's came out---I was standing in line (son #2 has it now).
When the 2nd gen DCLB's came out---I was standing in line. I thought it was pretty kickass to have a truck that could haul around a bunch of my friends. But then one day I determined that I don't really like my friends that much, so I sold the DCLB and bought an AC.
I have never been happier. Want to impress your friends? Drive a DC. Want to be happy? Drive an AC. :burnrubber::D

Currently on a road trip with the wife and 2 kids. 2 car seats in the back. It's what I expected when purchasing the truck. The Tundra Crew Max is a monster and sometimes I wish I had the room but for a midsize truck the Tacoma suites our needs just fine!
