I let the kinks get worked out from the 2016s. I felt with my truck about to turn 7, it was peaking in value. If I waited around 2-3 more years I most likely wouldn't get $20k+ out of my truck. I now have a brand new truck with about $23k of equity in it. If I do have any issues with it I can take it in for warranty work, or trade it in come 2018-2019 and not lose my hide on trade in. After weighing both options, I felt I was in a good position to buy a new truck. $240/month truck payment is hard to beat right now.

There are not too many 3 pedal truck options left in the English speaking part of North America.

    Congrats on the truck OP.

My first two Toyota trucks were manuals and I miss having that sometimes as they were a lot of fun to drive. Now that I'm older it more important for me to have the longer bed so auto it is.

Also, 8.6k miles on my truck so far, no vibrations either. The only issues I've had were the LCA howl and R - D delay that were both fixed by the associated TSBs.

I've had no issues with my MT 16. Besides greasing the driveshaft zerks and a squeaky clutch that doesn't bother me... I get compliments on my truck all the time. I love it.

Nice truck! I have a manual '16 Off Road and love it. I came from a WRX, so all the posts about vibrations / ride quality amuse me greatly. This thing is a dream.

    Nice plates btw.

Well, I have 05 LGT with STI drivetrain (6MT, R180, etc) on coilovers and full set of Group N mounts, full body braces, full 3" exhaust, etc. It is stiff, loud and fairly obnoxious. Yet it does not have any buzzing vibration in the steering that a 2016 Taco O/R MT I drove had.

I am still skeptical that the issue is not in all trucks, despite the claims here. I guess I need to head out and test drive more.

Need more room, wife's / family vehicle just paid off. I could buy another brand and not be happy, and my Toyota took care of me with the buy back program, so they deserve my loyalty. One of the few manual transmission options.

I do appreciate the discussion of the issues so of those of us mechicanicly challenged, wooden hand drivers know what to pay extra attention for.

Are you calling those of us not reporting vibration issues liars?

Congrats on the new ride! Great looking truck.

Don't worry about everone else questioning you buying it. Seems like the 3rd gen forum is full of negative people always bashing the 3rd gen.
I have had mine since April and have enjoyed it. I also traded a 15' Tacoma and have no regrets what so ever

Group-N mounts are nothing! I had Cusco solid mounts on all 4 of my STIs and those things would chatter your teeth together on start up! They made the transmission sound awesome, too.

Corrected for you. We don't make those problematic treads about the 3rds.

Not the people bitching about issues. I'm talking about the guys saying things like, oh gen 2.5. The grill is hideous. The truck is ugly. The truck is a POS. You guys should of kept your old truck.... Yada yada yada. Lots of second gen haters trolling the 3rd gen forums. Must be sick of talking about the same stuff or trying to get frame rot thoughts off their minds...
