My one & only question is, will the bigger Tundra WL 231mm calipers fit on my 16x8 Method double standards that have 4.5" of BS and 0 offset. I'm doing the upgrade tomorrow morning and I've seen a lot of 16" wheels w/ 4.5" of BS fit. I'm sure most people will say test fit to find out!
    Thanks in advance!

I wanna say the Tundra stuff requires a 17" or 18" rim or the calipers will rub

You might be right @VolcomTacoma but isn't it the sane thing as doing the upgrade on a 3rd Gen 4runner. The reason i say this is because i did the sane upgrade on my 3rd Gen 4runner and just needed a larger BS, if i remember correctly. I was thinking about doing this on my taco as well

    Should be OK.

13WG and 13WL calipers are the same size. The difference is in the brake line angle. 13WG is used in 2nd gen Tacos.
From Rock Auto, 1st gen Tundra rotor is 70.4mm tall. 2nd gen Taco rotor is 67.5mm tall. Both are 319mm dia., but the Tundra caliper is 2.9mm further inset than the Taco caliper.

Since the Method wheel clears 2nd gen Taco brakes, it should clear 1st gen Tundra brakes.

Yes that's understood. Since the Method wheel clears 2nd gen Taco brakes, it should clear 1st gen Tundra brakes on your 1st gen Taco.

So you have all the necessary parts, including the short piece of hard line that goes between the caliper and the spindle?

Yeah. It's sitting in my buddy's shop. He took everything off of his 04 Tacoma DC last weekend and we're installing it straight onto my my truck since we have identical trucks. He's parting his truck out. Everything is all OEM parts not aftermarket parts store components. It should be an easy swap. He had 17" Tundra wheels when he did the upgrade. But only 3 of the 4 rims are still good or I would've just bought those rims and known that it fit for sure. He only had the upgrade on his truck for 6 months before he wrecked it on a slippery icy road. But the brakes are fine and the engine starts right up still too!

Well the tundra brake upgrade was a success! No leaks, no rubbing and superior stopping power! Glad I went for it! Oh yeah and no air bubbles in the brakes lines either. Lol!!!

I loaded a 2001(I think?)Tundra a few nites ago onto a flatbed tow truck (I drive for AAA). It had 16" rims. Not sure if they were stock or not.

I took these pictures this morning on a random Tundra and they are 16" rims. They look almost exactly like the rims that came stock on my 04 Tacoma DC.
