tried the lighting forum, but no replies in 5 days so posting here to hopefully get a broader audience, I recently had my front left turn signal go out, (wouldn't light, flashing 2x as fast rear). I got a new bulb, swapped it in, and... not fixed. I put on the hazards, and they (the other 3) flash at the correct/normal rate, and passenger side turn signals function normally. Because of this i was thinking that the relay and fuse are OK, and it's the bulb socket possibly being fried? or is there something else to look at before i buy a new socket and replace it? (and if a new bulb socket is in my near future, any leads on a decent place to buy one?

thanks in advance for any help.

    Brand new so nothing yet.
Hopefully you get some responses. Mine don't work at all. Fuse is good and there are new bulbs in it. Still won't come on.

I've seen the 2x flash rate result from the other bulb on the circuit being out, for example the front will flash 2x because the rear bulb is burned out and not flashing. The blinker relay expects/requires a certain amount of load to work properly (which is why the LED guys have to buy load resistors).

If you have a spare bulb for the rear signal handy, I'd swap that out to test it, then maybe consider replacing the turn signal flasher if it's not too expensive.

Good deal I'll keep watching. I want to keep looking on mine but I wanted to get my brakes done first.

the rear bulb works correctly, just flashes at 2x rate (i assume because there is no load on the front) i'm going to attempt to do more diagnosis on the possibly broken socket before replacing the flasher...

Just don't do what I did. It's one of the bolts that hold the caliper on. To much braker bar and not enough heat and pb blaster. Thank god I had enough thread sticking out to get a pair of vice grips on it.
