1995 Tacoma Wipers Issue

I just picked up a 95 Tacoma that has intermittent wipers. I'm having two issues, one is that the intermittent function does not work it just mocks the same speed as the first setting. The second issue is that when I turn the wipers off, the wipers will stop wherever they're at and not return to the bottom of the cowl. Any advice?

I just googled this and found something for a 2000 Camry:

95% of the time you are looking at a bad wiper motor on this model. What happens is that copper contacts get worn out and does not allow the wiper motor to return to park. Because it does not see the park position it overrides and will not allow the intermittent wipers to work. Sometimes you can pop the plastic cover off the motor and clean or bend these contacts over and the motor will continue to work a little longer this is a common failure. Click the link below and save the picture of the plastic cowling and wiper motor. Ideally you need to do extensive testing of the wiper motor and switch if you want to do that and need information let me know.

I'm having the same problem with mt 1997 Tacoma. I tried a $35 used motor but that did not change anything. Did you find out the problem?
