I have been trying to answer the exact same question for weeks now! I have a 2005 6speed, 4.0L, 4x4 as well. I called a few places and CKT055 does NOT superceed to CKT057, which means something is different, but nobody seems to know what the difference is. Does anyone know what changed in the transmissions along the years, if anything? If I can't get an answer before I order, I'm just going to order the CKT057 because it's cheaper.

I heard there was something with either the slave cylinder or release bearing spacing on early trucks which caused a squeak/squeal as it barely contacted the clutch cover plate/pressure plate. Could it be related to that?

Also, the slave cylinder is a different question. I see plenty of pictures of slave cylinders that apparently fit my truck, but I took a picture of mine, and it doesn't look the same. Mine has the bleeder coming off the aft end at a bit of an angle. There are some like that, but some that have the bleeder perpendicular to the line (pointing towards the drivers door). Any clarification on that? I was just going to buy one that looked the same since they're all the same money and probably the same quality.

    Thanks

I like to save money also. Buy the best clutch you can afford. Lots of work to replace so go hi quality also get the flywheel cut. Good luck let us know how you make out. Pictures would be nice

So after a little more digging I found this handy Aisin parts database http://partcat.com/aisin. I read that the 057 supersedes the 055, so Im going to order one up. Hopefully it works out! Kanween did you end up buying one?

When people talk about "the fix" for these clutches, what exactly needs to be fixed?? Mine functions fine.
