I found a 2012 Tacoma online with about 30k miles at a Toyota Dealer. This is not being sold as a Certified Preowned Truck.

Why would a Toyota Dealer not sell this as a CPO?

Didn't want to pay the CPO fee (for the warranty coverage) and figured they could make more money selling it without CPO?

It may not meet the certified requirements. They have to pass a checklist, like no major accidents to be certified.

A 2012 Tacoma could've been built/sold in Sept 2011, so it could be 5 years old by now. That may be past Toyota's desired age or specs...dealers likely have some wiggle room, but probably not that much. Also, or in conjunction with the age, it may not have any service records at all...doesn't mean that they weren't done, but nowadays, a certified buyer (who is often being asked to pay far more than that certification is worth! ) will expect to see all records on a carfax or they won't believe it happened, so if the dealer can't provide that, they may not want to mess with it.
