Is this shit about to go? (cv)

So I was Pb blasting the nuts on the stock shock to remove in a couple of days to make way for my 5100 when I started fingering my suspension..... To check for any tears in rubber, play where there shouldn't be an low and behold I found my drivers side has 1/4 of play in the inner cv joint. Is this a cause for concern? It's much more play than the 1/16 play that is on the passenger side

Like I stated it has about 1/4 inch play. I also remember there being a bit of a clunk whenever I would go over a curb, could it be related? I also get a steering wheel wobble when breaking but I figured that may be warped rotors

play in and out and up and down that you describe is pretty normal.

 

Supposedly normal, even brought mine to the dealer and they confirmed that was normal. I checked 4-5 other tacoma's in the parking lot and they all did it aswell, my dad's tundra also does it. Drivers side only.

Eventually i'll redo the needle bearing with the aftermarket one.

I think many tacoma owners have this concern at one point or another... What got me was that, as you mentioned, the driver side has more play than the passenger side.
