    Hi fellas,

I have a 2002 taco 2.7l 4wd. I mostly use it on logging roads, new ones and old ones. At a certain point, the stock height is not sufficient for what I do with the truck.

My frame is getting replaced on july 11th. I want to achieve a 3" lift.
Here is what I am planning to do and some question related:

    -5100 billies all around (ordered)
    -diff. drop kit
    - OME 881 coil spring
    - an AAL kit, would I need longer U-bolt?
-Do I need an extension for the brake cable?
-new, winterproof and bigger tires that will fit on my 15" rims.
    -Am I forgetting something?

Thanks in advance for your answer. If any Canadians reading this thread, let me know where to buy those kind of part. I live in Quebec city area.

you woulda been better off going with a toytec or ome kit instead of buying everything separate. im over newfoundland and know it sucks getting stuff in canada like this. I usually use wheelersoffroad or 4wheelparts or ebay of course.

I have to say it's not so bad buying seperatly. It's just the shipping rates on toytec that are like the same price as my order lol. And essex distribution is really a good option for bilstein, 700$ tax in delivered to my door.

Newfoundland, almost got there but the ferry from nova scotia is soooooo expensive. Next time I'll take the road through Labrador city.

essex is where i got my front 5100s. best place to get bilstien stuff in canada.

-you wont need longer u bolts but you should replace them anyways.
-you wont need a longer brake line with just 5100s.
-11.5" wide tires is pretty much the MAX width on stock 7" wide 15s. I have 32-11.5-15s on mine.

$700 for 4 shocks shipped is cheap. you dont even know the struggle of seeing something listed as "$99" and it ends up being like $220 after currency rates, ridiculous shipping costs, import fees, and taxes.

Could I put one or two leaf of the old set and add it to the new one instead of buying a AAL pack? I saw that you did this in yout build thread Ryan.

Yes. I'm not sure how much lift you will achieve though. It handles the weight I have in the bed great though. I'm sitting about level with the 881s in front. Not sure what my lift is at now, if any with the weight I've added though

Concerning the AAL set, I have to choose between Procomp AALs firm ride or the toytec. Procomp is cheaper but I don't really want a super firm ride, plus the OEM leaf spring set is an HD one, so I don't know what's best for my truck...

I finally have some spare time to update my thread
I went to my appointement at the dealer in July but the mechanic couldn't replace the frame due to extreme corrosion of the cab in the back driver side (picture will follow).
So the dealer just told me to get my truck straight and it'll be no problem after.
I searched a body shop around Québec city that could kind of repair the cab but EVERYONE got affraid of doing the job, except one that would have charge me 5 000$CAN more or less.
Then I decided to do the job by myself with big help of dad. I bought a sheet of metal and tons of pop rivet. Cost me 50 $ and a sunny day...

    Leveling the cab :

horrific damaged corner of the cab. The only thing solid was the bracket attached to the frame and the one of the driver seat I guess(thank god)

    Preparing new body part:

During the end of August, they finally replace the frame and put the new parts I bought above. They also changed the ... power steering system that in french is cremaillère because it was leaking, no labour charge. Here's some pictures:

    20160826_111629.jpg 20160826_111830.jpg

The bill sent to toyota was about 13 000$CAN, wich is totally insane in my opinion. But I like the truck!
I think it end up with a bigger lift in the front. I'll have to measure it sometime. The ride is very good and really smooth.

I'll try to take some better pictures later!

Damn i havent really seen a taco body rust out like that.

With the new frame i think its worth getting that body work done professionally and finding another bed. Those combined will greatly increase the value of the truck.
