    Have a 2013 Tacoma TRD 4x4.

My wife will be driving it this winter. She is not a confident driver if you will and so I want to get some really good winter/snow/ice dedicated tires for this upcoming winter. She will be driving here and there with a newborn baby but overall not too often during our 6 month long winters in Canada.

I have been seriously looking at the Yokohama iceGUARD iG51v and also the Yokohama Geolandar I/T G072. They seem well reviewed. Price is not an issue for me. My families safety is the most important for me. I am considering a studdable tire too perhaps. Undecided.

Is there any other winter/snow/ice tires you guys would trust your loved ones with?

    Thanks

So if you Google Image snow and ice tires something like this shows up
Along with with some others for cars.
But what I did notice is that big ko2s popped up a few times.
I have taken mine to snow and ice...not a lot being that I live in so Cal but they did great in that mushy muddy peanut buttery mud snow with the ice under it, so that might be an option for ya.

Bridgestone Blizzak's are made for the snow. The wife might not like the heavy duractracs or KO2s. Heard great things about blizzak but no first hand experience. Just something to consider maybe.

These are the tires I run during winter. I did get them studded and feel like I can almost get through anything in just two wheel drive if I am not driving like an idiot. Everybody told me not to stud them because I have 4 wheel drive and I completely disagree. When you are on a sheet of ice it is really nice to have those studs poking out. For context I live in Colorado in the mountains at over 9k so we have pretty long cold winters as well. I either drive to work in the dark before the sun warms everything up or at night depending on my shifts so at least one way of my drive it is dark and frozen with plenty of ice.
