Ya, OP has a friend who is engineer at Toyota and has all the answers for the updates to the design and engineering of the 2018. I'm with him because he has a friend who is in the know...NOT! Prove it to me.

    Back on the Subject :

My problem is this … in the weeks following my purchase 2 weeks after the paint on the cab roof had begun to bubble. Initially, the spot appeared to be sap; however, after further examination it went deep into the paint surface and even under the paint itself. It was definitely not surface soil. The area was also the only spot at the time that appeared to be affected. It clearly appeared to be a failure in that patch of clearcoat/paint. Immediately, I made an appointment to have this checked out at the dealership. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a service advisor who was all too quick to direct me to contact an aftermarket company to take care of the issue since I had not purchased paint warranty. Furthermore, after a quick glance at the car, I was assured it was either tree sap or bird droppings, both of which could be remedied by a good cleaning and buffing to remove. I was suspicious of that answer as the dealership should be able to differentiate between sap and bird droppings - there should be no either/or determination.

After Submitting my Claim with Toyota, 4 forums such as Yelp, Cars.com etc. The dealership called me the next mooring to resolve my issues. The car was in the shop for another week .

A week had passed and then As I was driving the car engine died on me. Another week of service.

I have choose to spend my money on my truck but I feel like I bought I highlander since that was the courtesy car they gave me every time. I bought a truck because I chose to buy it. didn't think it would give me so much problems..

Great for those of you that got the truck that works well

At this point my job has is suspicious of the fact that I make up the story of having to drop off my truck for service just for the day off. I have used up all my sick days just to deal with this.

Sucks you'd had some issues. Regardless of anything I would file a complaint with Toyota corporate and let them know everything you've been through and how unhappy you are. Perhaps they can make it up to you buy giving you a warranty extension or taking care of a months payment to reimburse your time. They have for a few other members, so atleast they are trying to make customers happy. There is no doubts some users here have had issues with their trucks. However there are plenty who haven't. That said you'll mostly find negative things about them here. Or so it seems. There is a lot of informative and helpful posts here if you look around. Hopefully Toyota makes it right and your truck is done having issues

But I still have other issue I would like to ask about. I had my truck in service currently at 5K miles, They changed the cranks sensors in my truck
    Code P033515
Also Checkes the wires from the ECU, Checked the connector pins. The thermal wasn't all the way to the connector Replaced he Engine harness, replaced Engine Wiring Harness. Ended up replacing the whole harness.

Since all of this was done the truck now drives king of sluggish and jittery. Is there some kind of a whole engine issue with my truck?
It feels totally different driving it now.

Are you saying the engine performance degraded very noticeably after the repairs?

So guys keep making threads saying wait to buy a Taco until the 20xx comes out and all the wrinkles are ironed out....and these same people are mad at the people who are trying to deal with these wrinkles by letting their frustrations out on this forum.

You can't get mad at a person who is a little ticked off that their brand new $30-40k vehicle is experiencing real problems. They aren't bickering about wind noise or low drivers seat.

These types of posts do nothing for the forum members.

I have not had any issues yet on my 2016, i passed on the extended warranty at the dealership because if you purchase an 8 year extended warranty, it starts as soon as you purchase it. So therefore when the basic warranty runs out, you only have 5 years left. Anyone know anything about buying one out of pocket once you get closer to the 36k mile mark?

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .
Vehicle problem issues will be in some form forever ... just try to pick what you can personally deal with ... and hope you don't get a "super lemon" ... which is possible with any vehicle and model year.

Remember, many vehicle problems are caused by bad parts supplied by vendors.

And Toyota has a tendency to use Denso and other high quality vendors.

In many case, Toyota uses much better vendors that US manufactured vehicles.

Toyota is a assembler AND a manufacturer ... with Assembly as their primary goal.

If the bronco turns out to be true and doesn't look like a rounded eco-turd...I may have some interest.

If you look hard enough, you will find someone that's had a problem with any vehicle. You can Google XYZ make and model exploding on startup, and you will find someone claiming their vehicle blew up when they started it. Just got my 17 Taco yesterday, and I'm waiting for the lift to get installed. I would be shocked if I have any issues. The people complaining about the new engine are the same people that always complain about something new. Today's engines get more power for way better gas mileage than engines did just a few years ago. In 10 more years I doubt you will be able to get a Tacoma with a V6 at all. It's all going to turbo 4 cylinder's.

IDK Kathy, mine is a LB Limited, yours looks like a SB SR5, but correct me if I'm wrong.

There certainly is some speculation that Ford will try to keep the theme of the lines of the classic Bronco, but there is no indication at this time.

You know Ford will ruin the new Bronco, just like Pontiac ruined the GTO a few years ago. No way they will make a 2 door SUV today. I suspect it will be a 4 door Ranger with the bed turned into a 3rd row seat. I'll be first in line to buy one if they do it right.

This always amazes me. Its not like one day they start manufacturing vehicles with fixes. They initiate these changes in step while they are resiolved. I have 2016 and have had 0 problems. Read that again 0 problems. For you a non owner to be on here telling people to not buy a vehicle becasue your buddy says so. Unreal, You are not trying to help anyone here, you are trying to pretend you are superior in knowledge when the exact opposite is true, For once form your own and opinion and judgement. Quite amusing. If people took that advice your buddy would be out of a job.
