Haha, I was actually talking about back in February. I thought your Jeep buddy was sharing your campsite and Wes was in the next campsite over, which is why I was thinking that you were the next to the last site before the exit & trash bin.

:D If your buddy doesn't come out this time, that means Frank will be deprived of the nutritional value of rubbing his sammich all over the fish-gutty cooler lid. Whatever shall he do then? :notsure:

Nope, all ya need to do is let us know on this thread here that you plan on being there, how many nights, and just as a statistical curiosity, whether your 2 or 4WD...well that and how many trucks you plan on bringing with you in the case of non-member friends (plus what they will be driving, and whether they are 2 or 4WD) so they can be properly added to the attendance list.

As far as fees, you only need to pay for your campsite(s) which run $25/night, IIRC. You're allowed two vehicles per campsite with a max of 5 persons (although the Park Nazi gets pissy if you have more than two tents per campsite. You can get away with three if they are small tents).

    General Info for First Timers:

In addition to the above paragraph concerning how the campsites work, you will also need to bring your own firewood. This firewood should not be pine. Pine is terrible for firewood. You can get bundles of decent hardwood firewood at the grocery store, your local home center, or (most cost effective way) you can look on Craig's List for people selling firewood in your area and you can usually find several folks selling good seasoned and split oak firewood for around $15-25 for a wheelbarrow load.

A small grill such as a hibachi or a Webber Smokey Joe is handy for cooking dinner and such. The fire pits at the campsite have a grill grate you can flip over the fire, but they aren't the cleanest things around and they are too low to the ground to comfortably use.

You might want to buy and bring a canopy in case it rains. A tarp to cover your firewood and anything you don't want to get wet (including your tent), is handy. Spraying your tent with water proof spray such as G96 Fabric Waterproofing will keep your sleeping gear dry because nobody likes sleeping in damp bedding. These is optional, but we allowed good weather at previous meets to make us complacent and it caught a bunch of us out last February when it rained all afternoon on Saturday.

Since it's apt to be warm, a fan for your tent might be a good idea. If it's hot and you're heat sensitive (like me), @Rattletrap66 found this nifty keen solution...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxSLbpAwibg

If we get really lucky and it ends up being cold that weekend, a small electric heater placed on a piece of plywood (to prevent it from falling over) can take the edge off the chill.

The campsites we will be staying at have electric and water hookups. You should bring an outdoor power cord or two and a water hose with a sprayer. The power cord is self-explanatory, but the water hose is handy for washing off your windows and mirrors between trail runs and for flushing out wheels, brakes, and cleaning off recovery equipment before heading home.

That's all I can think of for now. Others can probably add more suggestions. I'm going to drop a link to this post in the OP so it'll be easier to find and reference.

Whut? I was on yer case about not airing down? Heh, that's odd 'cause I only air down the front tires at Citrus and that's only because it seems to take some strain off the CV axles. Otherwise, I don't believe airing down is required for Citrus. Still gonna be on yer case about ditching those Mickey Mouse tars putting a set of Intercos on the Dipper no matter how much you air down though. A serious truck like yours deserves a serious set of tars. :boink::luvya:

Haha just going back to our discussion on my build thread a while back. Trust me though, I definitely want some meatier tires but I also want my atlas 4 transfer case and trailer. Gotta keep my priorities in line, that is unless I stumble upon a crazy deal on tires (I really want some pitbull rockers for some reason)

Well, hopefully airing down will help out in the interim. Gotta do something when 2WD open diffs with A/T tires are getting better traction than those MTs. That's just wrong.

Or for you guys with your billies turned up to 1.75 or 2.5 so your teeth don't rattle out of your head going down the trail. (Aired down = softer ride :D)

Misunderstood what you were saying for a minute there. Brain is still sun baked, I guess. :D As far as airing down being pointless for 4WDs, like I mentioned earlier, I do air down, but only the front because I seem to bust CV axles less often when the front is aired down. That said, I was walking up hills just fine in 2WD with the rears at full pressure. I don't know why the rest of yas was having problems.

Another thing I wanted to experiment with.... Air down the rear tires to get it smoother since the 63s are stuff as shit. Also want to see if it helps with the wheel hop I experience
