When washing my truck today, I noticed there is rust on my 2017 Tacoma. What is everyones advice on how I should handle this? What will Toyota do to fix this? Do you think I can take it to a different Toyota to fix the issue?

A chip in your paint isn't toyota's fault. Unless you noted it when you drove it off the lot, it's on you.
Cleanup the surface rust and touch up paint.

It is 3 weeks old and it is on the roof next to my moon roof, not sure how that would get chipped and rust within 2 weeks.

Assuming your screen name is representative of your location, it's not a far stretch of the imagination that a rock got kicked up. Bare steel rusts, it's that simple.
The dealer will point and laugh if you expect them to cover it.

It doesn't take long for surface rust to start forming on bare metal... less than a day easy. Spray some water on your brake rotors and check them out the next morning. They'll be covered in surface rust.

Take it to the dealer. They'll put a drop of touch up on it. I'd advise you to buy a bottle from them so you're not bothering them every time you get a chip, though

Prolly got hit by some moon dust... or a tiny meteor. Didn't we just have a meteor storm a few weeks ago?

Perseid meteor shower 8/11-12/2016... take it back to the dealer and complain.

Thats got to be thin paint and even thinner primer. Heck a rock shouldn't chip paint.

    Go and ask.

You could get lucky and have a kind hearted person take pity on you and correct the issue. But you better fine tooth the rest of the truck before you go, 'cause if you do get lucky, you'll likely only get one shot.

The worst that happens is they'll say no. Which is a high probability.

It would make more since if it was on my hood or bumper, but not on my roof.

i would make a phone call or swing by the dealership ASAP, whats the worst that can happen, "sorry dude thats on you". Or or let us take care of that for you. I would be pretty upset if after less than a month I found rust on my brand new vehicle.

Yea, either touch it up yourself or take it to the dealer/body shop and expect to pay a few bucks to get it fixed. Just one of those things that happens. I got a nice chip in my windshield, dead center, about a week taking delivery. Annoys the crap out of me every time I notice it.

Toyota does have shitty paint, but that's crazy to think it went through the clear, base, and primer. I'd take it back to see what they will do. They will probably tell you to kick rocks, but that shouldn't happen that quickly. Never hurts to ask.

We live in Az where rocks are everywhere on the road. They get kicked up really high in the air, lands on your roof, paint chip. Happens a lot. \
