Ok I'm off tomorrow and going to put some shims in the rear I got 2* and 4*fat end goes where? Front or back facing? I think fat end goes to the rear in order to rotate axel up. Correct?

 

when I had 3* shims, I had the fat part in the back, tapering to the narrow end in the direction of the front of the truck.

doesnt mean I was right but i also had zero driveline vibes or issues

 

Yes, fat end goes back to rotate pinion up. Do you need to rotate the pinion up or down?

 

Don't know yet got my digital angle finder, wrenches, shims, time and just need to find a semi flat surface around here.

 

Flat surface doesn't really matter because you're looking for differences in angle along the driveline. The relative angle will be the same no matter the truck's position.
