I'm Looking at a 2001 Tacoma with 192,000 miles and a 2.7 liter with a manual transmission. Other than the frame rust issues is there anything else to look out for? I've got a 95 now with the same set up but to do the body work and some minor repairs is turning out to be more than I'm wanting to spend. The '01 is in great shape with no rust. Any replies would be appreciated.

(edit: nevermind, the 2.7l doesn't have a timing belt)

Make sure it was maintained well

Make sure the 4wd works (don't test it on pavement)

    Then buy it!

The 2.7 has a timing chain so no worries on belt replacement, shouldn't need to be serviced either.
I picked one up a while ago with 340,000KM and 5 speed and it runs great, really fun truck. Go for it!

The truck has sold, I'll continue fixing mine up. It only has 108k and the frame is good. In the meantime if I find one I like I'll snap p it up and sell mine. They go quick if it's anywhere near a good deal.
