I have parked my truck as I usually do. Went inside to the store came back outside to get inside my truck to start it and leave. Put my key in the ignition like normal but it will not turn it on. A red indicator light of a car with a key in the middle of it starts flashing right beside my clock on the dash. I have done nothing different as I would do any other day my truck will not start. The key will not even turn over enough to turn the radio on or Windows up when I take the key out of the ignition the little light keeps flashing. I don't know what to do. Has this happen to anybody else can you please helpme

This might be the engine immobilizer system but I'm not sure. Try using your spare key?? :notsure:

I have not made it down to get a spare key made yet. I just thought the truck 2 weeks ago. But I am going to the dealership today to get me a spare key made for sure. And just now I figured I would try it again and I put my key in as normal and it started up just fine. Very weird I definitely do not understand this. I will definitely be in the Toyota dealerships for a while today thank you guys.

Would never buy a truck or a car that did not come with two keys. This is just one of the reason for having a spare.

If the key won't turn, it is worn, the lock is worn, or both. Sometimes just turning the key over and reinserting it will help.
