Back from a week of filming an elk hunt up north. Laid down some amazing footage.

Encountered a problem with one of my cameras. Fire it up, hit record and get a message that says "error. Please turn off camera and turn back on." Can't turn it off unless I remove the battery. Tried 3 different batteries with the same message. Occasionally it will let me record for 25 seconds but will give me an SD card error. Tried all the SD cards I have with the same message. It is recording for those 25 seconds though. The clips are on the card.

    Any thoughts???

I spoke with Panasonic and they were as helpful as the 7th cup holder in my truck. They just want me to send it to them for service.

Camera is a Panasonic V700M. It shoots amazing HD footage and it's what I use 90% of the time so I really would like to fix it.

I was filming my buddy's wife's hunt. I used his G30 in the field but wanted to use mine for B roll stuff around camp.

Damn! I'd like to see that video when you get it done! I've been thinking about filming one of my hunts, wish I would have filmed my last bear hunt.

Check this site out to see a couple of their films. They will be doing all the editing. They make some really cool videos. The Kodiak film is sweet! Once the elk hunt is all done I'll post up the final video. It will probably be another month or so.

    https://www.themountainproject.tv

My buddy is good friends with the creators of The Mountain Project and asked me to help him film for his wife's hunt. I've filmed a bunch of my own stuff and it's really fun. It can be a pain self filming or trying to help a hunter and film at the same time though.

She has passed on a lot of smaller bulls. The heat and ridiculous high winds really hurt us the first 4 or 5 days. Wind was finally calm yesterday with cool temps and we saw 15 bulls.

We've seen some giants but haven't closed the deal yet. I'm back at home for work but they are still up there. I'm confident she will get it done soon though.

It will be sweet for sure.

We have 2 more deer hunts coming up so I really need to get this camera figured out. I'm hoping to avoid sending it to Panasonic.

Can some of you guys school me on my wireless router for my TV? Here's the scoop. I have CenturyLink because it's crazy cheap. A while back I decided to dump Direct TV and just go with Netflix. Streaming was ok for a while but it blows as of late.

I am NOT a techy type guy so I have no idea if it's CenturyLink, my router or both. I'm leaning towards both. It constantly loses connection. Watching some movies is like watching the very first tube TV invented. Terrible quality. I have no idea what my Internet speeds are or how to test it. My router is old as hell too. It's a Lynksys 2.4GHz 54 Mbps. Model WRT54G.

I really don't want to have to go back to being ass raped by Satellite TV so I'm counting on you peeps to come through. Haha

Do I need to test my speeds and then upgrade my router or????

First you can try rebooting both the modem, then the router. Then use speedtest.net to test your speeds. I'd also use a wired connection to the TV if possible.

I've rebooted both, in that order but it didn't help. Can't use a wired connection due to location. What should I look for when I test the speeds?

An average HD stream from Netflix or YouTube should be about 5Mb/s. As long as your connection is at least that fast, Netflix should work fine. If possible, try running Speedtest from a laptop, both wired, and wireless. Might give you an idea if your ISP/modem/router is the issue, or if just the wireless reception/interference is bad.

You are getting raped by low speeds from CenturyLink for a cheap price. That's the first issue!

When my speeds start getting slow I usually just call and complain a bunch. Then it usually gets better for a couple months. Century link blows.

Super old router. It might be going out from old age. Century link is super hit and miss. I like to use testmy.net for speed testing.

I'm assuming the modem is old as well. Might be time for an upgrade.

So the inevitable has happened. I'm going to need to create an account on my PS4 for my kids. Question is, should a create a new master account, or a sub account?
