So thinking about getting my third gen soon. I really want a DCLB and my GF and I only have a smaller one car garage in which a long DCLB won't fit.. Wondering if anyone here has ran into the same dilema as me. Does paint hold up pretty good these days to UV rays? My old Tacoma held up pretty well and I live in northern Colorado with lots of sun.

I'm in the same boat. I got it at the beginning of March and it seems to be doing ok in Central Texas.

IMHO, Whoever gets to park in the garage should have to wax the other persons ride.

A Short box will fit in my garage...if I didn't have my own honda parts warehouse set up with shelves along the wall...and my toolbox on the other side.

I went with the short bed so it would fit in my garage. All I see around here are late model cars that look like complete crap with splotchy paint and all the black ABS faded to grayish-white from the sun. I think clear coat is good for about 3 years in the sun before it breaks down. But the suggestion to wax is critical and some sort of UV protectant on all of that plastic. I use 303 Aerospace Protectant. Now if I could just figure out how to not have to go to work I could just leave it in the garage until I take it out to play on the weekends.

My 2002 Tacoma still sparkles and it has never been garage-kept. Only thing faded is the plastic around the wheels. Those need to be treated to protect against UV as well.

Is the 3rd Gen DCLB longer than the 2nd GEN DCLB? My 2nd GEN DCLB, which I sold recently, fit in my garage. My new GEN 3 DCSB barely fits. If I had a DCLB, I feel like it wouldn't fit.

I garage my AC. No one ever sits in the backseat anyways.

Do you need to know, or care?
These are very popular up here in snowy regions, just a thought. Most people buy the canvas ones that you can collapse in the summer. No protection from theft though.

I garage my DCSB. It's one of the reasons I got it. My old full size truck was very hard to fit in the garage. With the Taco, my wife and I can both get our cars in the garage without too much trouble.

Got mine in a car port. Don't know if that counts as a garage.

I rearranged my garage just so I could fit the Tacoma into it (DCSB though). I don't think the LB would fit no matter what I did, the SB has about 2" of clearance on the door.
